Hi everyone , I'm glad this forum is here. I just picked up a Tokai 59' copy (1985) off ebay. The owner didn't have the original case so he bought me a gibson (new) les paul case, or should I say I paid for it. Anyway, he mentioned the pickups are "a bit" microphonic, I have seen this term bouncing around the whole Japanese les paul copy subject now. How bad is it? I play in a country rock band, and turn up to about 3 on my mesa boogie. That's pretty loud actually. So is it different with every Tokai (microphonics)? I have already read the forum on microphonics and have printed out the instruction on 'potting' pickups. Looks quite easy if you have all the equipment in place. Anyway... please give me any and all relevent feedback about microphonics. Thanks.
