I've bought my first Tokai. I took lots of pictures - see

Does it look real or fake to you?
When was it made? I would guess 85 or 86...
 
Looks real enough to me.
85 or later, Tokai basses look the same into the 90's (outside the US!) so it's almost impossible to date them exactly.
What is that "Oldies" decal doing? :lol:
 
I agree with Magnus, I don't know much about the basses but it looks fine to me. Hard to date the script decal ones, same as with Goldstars - 84, 85, maybe 86 or a bit later.

The decal? they all had that didn't they? Here's my 1983 JB45.

I can't be bothered to check now, but I think Tokai are just copying what Fender do.

And it's true, some but not all Fender Jazz basses have the "Contour Body" decal joined to the main logo. Interesting!
