Three screw truss rod cover and badly positioned controls (far too close together) ;) The price is a giveaway too. ?999 for a one year old Custom Les Paul. Yeah, right  I've asked for close-ups of the headstock and searial. Are we taking bets as to wether I get an answer ?

"This Auction Is For A Black Custom Les Paul With Gold Hardware electric guitar That Has Just Arrived into Our Shop."

It appears he's sold it before though:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270049551728

Where he said: "It Is A 2005 Model Les Paul And Arrived In My Shop Not Too Long Ago."

Same serial number in both auctions: 02005441

Even gave the guy who bought it feedback and stated "Didnt Waste My Time. Great Ebayer A*****" (Only 2 in the buyers feedback though, so probably a shill bidder to get positives  )

The auction is over. The guy who bought it has the wierd feedback.

Either way, it's is one ugly LP copy.

His completed auctions in the last month:

It appears that he has sold the same guitar sold a further 4 times (twice on the same day !!! 2nd Nov) and a fake Zakk Wylde sold twice

Some people seemingly see the word Gibson and lose their marbles. I was watching this recently just to see the price it would reach...

Unbelievable. The pickguard looks like my Epi Dot yet it seems to have bound F holes and a bound fretboard. Grotty colour though. I wonder where it came from.. Korean special?

Doh !!

This guy sell almost nothing but fake Gibson, Gretsch and Ibanez:

Have a look at his completed listings.

He even says that he has them made to his specifications in china !! Ebay have been notified, but don't seem to be pulling his auctions.

If you intend to buy such a fake ... :-?

... in Germany you'll run the risk that the fake will be confiscated by the Customs and be destroyed without any refund !! 8)

Is that the THRILL ???

Roger

I'd never buy crap like that, Roger. Beats me why people do. The only people they're fooling are themselves and any other ignorant people who see the guitar. Anybody who knows guitars will see they're fakes immediately :-?

Baggy,

The only people they're fooling are themselves and any other ignorant people who see the guitar.

... and are willing to pay an overprized retail price ...

... but what is the British Government doing against those apparently swindlers ???

Roger

BTW - think you have also to point the public authorities in Germany to that practice ... the press is better informed!

I htink I might be unique here in the forum for actually having met the seller. I bought an early 70's Ibanez ES-355 from him and he was very cordial and very decent. I've seen one of the 'Gretsch' guitars he sells. It's not up to the complete Gretsch quality (ho ho!)but for the price, it's not a badly made guitar at all.

I see his aucitons now don't claim to be Gibsons or Gretsch guitars, and I recall him saying that he wanted the guy in China to produce guitars without headstock labels. if you aren't selling them as originals, isn't it just the same as Japanese manufacturers in the 1970s selling copies of US-made guitars?

To my mind, this seller is more bending the rules rather than selling flat out fakes and declaring them to be Gibsons etc.

Anyway, who wants an overpriced Gretsch anyway? :D
