My guitar buying has slowed quite a bit over the past few years.
I have purchased only four guitars this year and not intending to purchase any more.
Of course if the right guitar popped up I might be tempted and there are still about 10 weeks left to the year

My favorite for 2018 is my (2011) Bacchus Classic Series BLP-FM Relic.
The weight is so very close to perfect, the lumber is amazing, and the neck is perfect for my playing. This was a great purchase for me, for a Les Paul. :)

So, what cha got? What guitar is your most favorite guitar you purchased in 2108? :D

Man, those both sound like great guitars!! Congrats 8)

1959 Gibson ES125T

Not this one but in equally nice shape and no issues:

I bought way too many guitars in 2018. The two favorite probably are History GH-LCV. Made by Fujigen in 2011. I bought one them liked it so much. Saw another one a few months later for a really good deal and could not turn it down. From a totally different seller. Both happened to be 2011 models. Looks at the SN's of each of them. They are sequential. What is the chance of that? In the first on I put Throbak 101+ pickups. 525k CTS pots, Faber bridge, Gotoh locking tuners and Luxe Bumblebee caps. The thing just smokes now. I am still working on the 2nd one but I am putting in humbucker sized p90 from throbak.

Not one so far, only got rid of some!
I do have something in the pipeline, maybe just before the end of this year, patience guys! :D

I wish !!! Alas nothing this year because of the exchange rates. I'm pretty lucky to own the axes i have so i can't complain.

I just got this yesterday and still need to wire it up with 2 non-EMG humbuckers but I think this will be the one for 2018. 1981 Super Real, likely an 1800 model. Got it from the Usednet booth at the Tokyo Musical Instrument Fair yesterday with a Super Real hard case, all for the cost of a new effect pedal.

Year's not over yet! :D

I like the way you think !! When you lose .30 cents off every dollar it takes the wind out of ones sails. I'll have to save up for one of wulfman's special deals lol.

Some tasty guitars so far. Congrats

I'd have to say it is this recent one:

'81 1 piece ST80

This thing is just a beauty. Best strat I've ever played, it just sounds and plays so good!

Lots of very nice guitars in this thread 8)

I was tempted  & purchased a Bacchus Strat; the price point was just too good IMO.
It's a Vintage Series example that looks like the 'Charley' Strat that SRV got from Charley Wirz.
This one looks all original & in excellent condition, just from looking at the photos.
It has white body & head stock face, lipstick pickups, hard tail bridge (no tremolo) and it looks like the fingerboard is Madagascar rosewood.

Will it be my favorite for 2018? Probably not because my wallet just got a bit lighter.

LOL  I didn't know this was a competition but rather thought it would be nice for folks to share their experiences for 2018.

IMO every guitar here is the 'winner'

I like Harold's 1800; very interesting top on that example. Looks like it could be a 'blister' top :-?

I wish it had the original Dry Z pups; I'm so sorry Harold

time to revisit this thread

So, I purchased only six guitars in 2018 which for me is not that many.
The last one I purchased in late December but I did not have it in my hands until February 2019.
The Bacchus Classic Series BLP-STD FM Relic is no doubt a great guitar in many respects but I think my last purchase of 2018 may have out done the flame top relic. :-?

So, the last guitar I purchased in 2018, that didn't arrive until February this year, certainly seems to be getting ALL of the playing time; and for good reason. What is that guitar?
My NEW favorite for 2018 acquisitions is a circa 2004 Bacchus (Vintage Series) BLS-54 GO-NB. :D
No fancy wood grain in the top, just some cheesy gold paint but this thing just kicks *** & takes names. 8)

It aint always about looks; an ugly ole dog can be just as great as a porn star.
