Hi all, up for sale is my vintage '56 Les Paul Special in original well worn TV Yellow, and one of the very best sounding examples I've come across bar none!
This has everything that makes old Les Pauls so compelling to me- a ridiculously resonant and featherweight 6.6lb slab old Honduran body, a beautifully fat and wide neck profile and simply magical long magnet P90s, all tied together with a wrap tailpiece for maximum tone transfer and simplicity.
I've had a few dozen '50s Les Pauls, including many P90 Goldtops between '52-'56, as well as stock PAF guitars and PAF conversions, but each time I get a single cut TV Special, I'm struck how absolutely killer these really are!
This one is fully original save for a set of '64 Kluson tuners, and one volume knob, and has had some bizarre mystery tuners fitted that left some indents and four extra screw holes, as well as four more around the bottom strap pin from a B3 Bigsby or similar, but it's otherwise a well worn beauty and plays and sounds utterly superb :dude:
I've priced it way below any other comparable original finish '50s Les Paul in the EU at £4850 OBO, and will ship anywhere it needs to get to, pro packed and tracked.
I have lots more pics I'm happy to share, and have excellent feedback on eBay, MLP/TGP and elsewhere, so buy with confidence.
Thanks for looking! J@S
