This seller seems sure it's a "70's Tokai", but I can't see anything that leads me to belive it is. Sure it's got new Fender saddles & logo fitted, but the neck plate doesn't look like any other Tokai I've seen...

Any comments?

My guess is not, that serial number is not Tokai one for me......

And Ingwie J. Malmsteen never played a Tokai we know.....

I don?t know if Tokai is making YM signature for F.Japan(it would be very possible) but if it's as nice as Ritchie Blackmore one I tried about 2 weeks ago then I like it.....

Haha... Luis that's funny.
I've a Fender Japan catalog in front of me, at my desk...

.... you can guess three times.....

That thing is not even close to 'Malmsteen' spec. I love it when people talk about how 'fast' a scalloped neck is . Like Yngwie would be slow if someone made him play a standard strat.

I see it didn't reach reserve at ?330.30 (Approximately US $584.50) and has been re-listed at : -

I think someone should point out to him that he's very probably misrepresenting it by listing it as a Tokai.

I'm convinced it can't be any kind of Tokai, even before his "serious, professional quality mods" and despite the seller's demands of "Rare Instrument!!! Respect Due !!! "

I just hope some poor buyer doesn't fall for it thinking he's getting a high quality (& potentially highly-collectable) Tokai when that's clearly not what it seems to be.
