Hi,

i bought a Supergrade at ebay and i am very happy with it.

But i do not know much (Model, year and so on), so i hope someone can help me.

Changes: i changed end pins, PUs (the zebras on some pics) and knobs, original PUs and knobs are on the pics below.

Body backs seem to be 3-piece (but i am not sure), but i am not sure. Neck is one piece. It has fretedge-binding. I tried to photograph it, but i am not exactly a good photographer.

Weight: 4.6 kilos, more than 9 lbs.

My questions:
- what model?
- what year?
- what PUs?
- fair price (near mint condition)?

Many thanks in advance.

I hope this isn't the wrong forum.

See you
Burny III

It looks very much like a 88-90 RLG 60 or 70 with veener top and 3 piece back. The pickups are the new style VH1?s. They are much like the old VH2-VH4?s and differ from the old style VH1?s in many ways (not handwound, not alnico and a little hotter)

Hello burny123,

many thanks for your kind reply. :)

I thought the caps were not original. I guess they are better ones.
At least they sound great and work fine.
Good pots and caps are one of the strenght of my Burny Super Grade. I'd never change them!

What price would you pay for my bridge VH-1 (in case i'd sell it)?
I am thinking about selling the bridge PU and i'd like to know what price would be a fair price (for both, seller and buyer).

I am not even thinking about selling my Burny, but what price do you think was appropriate?

Thank you in advance
burnyIII aka Stefan

By the way: how do you know so much about Burnys? Do you have the old cataloges? Where can I read find them?
Where can i find more information about Burny models?

Hi Stefan

Go to Villagers page

http://www.japanguitars.co.uk/burny%20info.html

This is the best information site, as far as i know (I?have written it myself ha ha) I would sell a guitar like Yours (I have got one) for around 700-750 us $. The pickup around 50 us $

cheers nils

I?ve writen an article about Fernandes covering the brand since the begining,it?s very long and not focused in Burnys only. The article Burny 123 wrote is more focused on Burnys than mine but more accurate I must admit although I think they complemented to each other. It?s in spanish altough....

Hello Luis.

Thank you for your reply.
I do not speak spanish, so your article won't help me.

But if you post it, maybe others will find that article very helpful.
Bye bye
