Hi, I just nabbed an white Edwards SG80D off ebay. I already have a Gibson SG standard in alpine white and I thought before I get rid of the Gibson (my plan right now, anyway), I'd do a comparison first and post the results.

So, I'm soliciting ideas for comparison from forum members.
To start I thought I'd compare the following:
- weight (Edwards feels about 2 lbs lighter)
- neck size (Edwards is thinner, like a 61(?) SG)
- fit/finish (both great, Gibson is nitro, Edwards is quite nice)
- sound (Edwards has Seymour Duncan pus)
- bridge
- neck

I can take pictures, too if there are any specific things people want pictures of.

I'll be using a L6 Pod so, please suggest standard settings to
try it and I can post mp3s of the comparison.

Thanks!
Bill

Hi,

As far as weights go the Edwards is extremely light -- lighter
than my '63 SG junior:

Gibson White SG Standard: 7.4 lbs
Gibson '63 SG Junior: 6.2 lbs
Edwards White SG: 6.0 lbs.

And the Edwards has a narrower neck, as measured at
the 12th fret.

Gibson White SG Standard: 2.0625 (2 1/16) in.
Edwards White SG: 6.0 lbs: 2.0 in.
