scroll down to the photo where the neck joint is shown there is clearly a division line in the wood grain at the heel what is that? is the neck two pieces? I'm refering to the circular shape, even the color seems to be different

Yep, looks like that heel is spliced on. My '78 Burny is like that, too.

The ad states that it is a three piece neck so that is one joint your seeing there and there is most likely a scarf joint near the headstock too. Thats how they do the new MIK Tokais.

What's the reason for that? That Greco is a '78, if they're doing it on new Tokai's, is it a cost-cutting thing?

70's Grecos are Gibbo Norlin era replicas,so you got a 3 piece neck(maple),volute and pancake body....heavy guitars.
