Does anybody knows this company? It has something to do with El Maya guitars? All I know is that is MIJ. Is it mahagony, ash...?

Here?s the picture:

You could try asking Rob at http://www.whitstableguitars.co.uk/. He has had a few Maya guitars for sale in the past and usually has a fair amount of info on the guitars he sells. He has been very helpful whenever I have had dealings with him.

Maya and "El Maya" and Bambu were brand names used by a Japanese Trading Company from Kobe called Rokkoman. The Maya and "El Maya" and Bambu guitars were probably made by Chushin before Chushin entered into the Jackson guitar contract.

Here you can see Chushin parts on a Bambu (bottom left photo)

Hello,

I have posted some extensive info about (Chushin) Bambu and El Maya guitars over here:

http://www.ibanezcollectors.com/forum/miscellaneous/el-maya-top-of-the-line-ibanez-artist-killer-t20346/msg194072/#msg194072

Rokkomann was a brand owner.
Maya (musical instrument CO, Kobe) had it's own factory and contracts with Chushin.
Maya's were economic class guitars, EL Maya's and Bambu's were top quality axes (probably made in Chushin, or parts of it).
And still are.

Hope you find it useful.
Cheers.

I got this Maya guitar today.

Ha ha,well,it was just a coincedence that this Maya showed up at my local store the day I brought my Greco there for a setup. When I asked how much for the Maya they said $399 so I couldn't resist. Here are some more pictures.

These are some other pictures of the Maya
