Can anyone help me with some questions on this. I bought it as a 1984, which seems right but I can't find a similar model in the catalogues. The sticker on the back is "35" so I'm guessing fairly low-end but I was surprised to find that the body has been capped with 5mm of some oher wood. so, my questions are:
- What model is this?
- Can anyone provide some history on this model? It looks similar to this one: http://www.tokaiforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=9385 except that mine has twin humbuckers.
- Can anyone help me identify the two woods used - neither seems to have a particulaly strong grain and although the grain is just visible through the paintwork, it doesn't seem pronounced enough to have warranted capping the body.
- Does anyone have a view on the Tokai "57 PAF" pick-ups?
- and finally, I need to replace the trem. Will any Fender-type replacement fit or do they al have different threads? I've tried a spare I have and i doesn't fit but I don't know the history of that arm.
Full pics are on my site at http://andymunro.spaces.live.com/. I'm afraid I'm struggling to add the pics directly into this post
Thanks in advance for the collected wisdom of the community.
