Hi, I'm new here.

I've read that Tokai did make the finest Les Paul Replicas in the 80's.

But what about the Flying V's? Are the Tokai Flying V's of the 80's also exact copies of the original Gibson? I know that the look is identical, but I want to know about the feel, the tone ect.....

I want to buy one. A friend of a friend has a 1984 Flying V form Tokai.

Is it just as good as the original? As this friends lives in another country I cannot try the guitar...

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks alot in advance!

A friend of mine collects vintage american guitars and he has a mate called Mick Grabham ex Procul Harum and a stunningly good and underrated guitar player (get his solo album "Mick the Lad" if you ever see it if only for the shot of the '59 'Burst he used on the cover - the songs and playing are terrific however). He also used an early unmodded Tokai V and he say's it was the best guitar he ever had and he wishes he had'nt flogged it (don't we ALL!) and he would jump if he ever saw another one. He also rates early Tokai 'Pauls - and this from a guy who often toted an original '59!

Grab it AcAngry!!
