i just bought a tokai super edition of ebay. It is absolutely mint condition, but quite surprising to play. I already have a 1984 copy of a 1962 model (with the truss rod accessible from the body end of the neck etc..) the super edition sounds quite tinny, with a lot of resonation from the strings and less from the body. It is incredibly light to play, and incredibly smooth. the neck does not seem on a par with the other model I have (but maybe its just different - it;s still good..). Does anybody else have a super edition? What is their reputation? Also - how does one go about dating the super edition? - there is no serial number on the backplate - only a '36' sticker on the back of the neck near the body? Does anybody know anything about this model of tokai??
