hello friends

i have an 82 goldstar which i have put texas specials in,now ive heard that the 250k pots should be upgraded to 500k to get the most out of these pick ups,is there anyone out there with experience of this?
any advice

The Texas Specials may or may not require a 500K volume pot to sound their best... a higher value pot will allow for higher output and more high frequencies but you could replace the pot and find that you do not like the sound. Let your ears be the judge...if you like them with the "warmer" sound of the 250K pot then let them be. (You could try the FDP forum for more opinions and info.)

BTW, I have tried Texas Specials in my TST-56 and I went back to the original Tokai pickups...but I have a 500K volume pot. Go figure... :-?
