Strat copy ID question

Hi, I bought this tobacco burst, body only, and do not see any markings in the cavities.
The seller said that it was a Tokai body from the 70's. The neck pocket is smaller than normal as was typical
for that time period.

My question is could this body be a Tokai without having any markings in the cavities?

Well I've gone back and remeasured the neck pocket and it is wider than my '81 SS40.
Am I wrong but I thought all Tokais from that time period had narrower necks.

Time to email the seller.

I've emailed the owner and this is the reply he gave me,

"" hey i’m sorry there’s some width issues. i bought it here on reverb and that guy said it was a tokai body. i’m not too familiar with the markings so i took his word for it. here’s the original listing and a photo of the guitar it came on "

And he sends me a picture of it with a no name neck.

Not happy right now, I have to think about this before I react.
