I've been trying to figure out where exactly this Tokai was manufactured? It appears to be a 1979 Les Paul Reborn LS80 by looking at the headstock and the "80" stamped on the fretboard, but obviously the electronics are different. And there is no serial number on the back, or in the pickup cavity. It's advertised as one of the unauthorized models produced for the Canadian market, but it has none of those characteristics either, ie "Make in Korea" on the back of the headstock. I've looked everywhere for a model like this but cannot come up with anything. Anyone have any ideas? Much appreciated

3 Piece Top points straight to LS50
Maybe someone carved 80 on the fingerboard to make it look like LS80.
Thing smells fishy!

Someone with sharper eyes will judge the rest, I guess.

Looks like the pickup sockets have been routed out to take PAF's. Possibly were P90's originally? or the cavity was enlarged slightly for a better fit of a particular pickup set, not necessarily the current ones though.
Neck socket/tenon isn't looking Japanese either!
Curious one this.
