Hi
Just have a new old Breezysound.
I believe it is 1981.
the serial nr is 7 digi and start with 10175XX
The sticker is TE 50
Both Pickup are stamped t e B, I think that's the original.
The tuners is stampes Tokai and the logo is the old one...7okai.
The neck is stamped 3 = 9, what does this mean ? (Or should I flip it... 6 = 8
The saddle I stamped Tokai and it a 6 saddle bridge.
The strange thing is that I can not see any stamp on the body, or I might not look the right place.
Can any one tell me the precise year ?

Thanks Michael

If Peter read this, is it still possible to buy your book ?IMG_5554.jpgIMG_5555.jpg

Try the control cavity. (and let no one tell you they 'always' have to match, they could but 'don't have to' match for a Tokai neck and body to be original!)

(second half of) 1981.

Hi guys,

Could also be under the front pickup in that cavity.
'81 was a bit of a transition year for body stamps - on some late '81 Springy, they have 2 exact stamps, one in the pickup cavity and one in the control cavity.
regards
Peter

Hi Guys

Thanks for answer.
The guitars is very nice, and very similar to my my others old Tokai/ springy sound from 80/81.
Except this is a Breezysound. Everything's looks very original, the tuners, the pick ups, bridge logo etc.

But I can not find a stamp on the body, is a little weird.I tried to look under the neck pickup and the control cavity.

Peter: Do you know what this code means ? The neck is stamped 3 = 9.

And what about your book, is it for sale any where in Europe ?

Thanks Michael

Or 6=8
Either way first digit is month and second is product number, so that neck and body mate up after paint.

Hi Hodge 69

Yes I believe it is the real thing, the the stamps on pickups, on tuners, on bridge plate , the neck, and neck plate with number all match, and it is really very very nice to play. Excellent guitar, very playable, straight, stays in tune, all over the freetboard, so I'm very happy with this.
Just strange that I can find the color code anywhere. But maybe someone in 81 forgot it when it was made, who knows.....

Michael

Your body code says it was made in May (5) and your neck code says March (3).

That is a bit unusual. Usually the months are the same on neck and body. These are 2 months apart.

Probably a modded Partscaster because those pots I normally don't see on Tokais until the 1990s.

And the color code is GS (golden sunburst) as written in your control cavity.
