Hi there - this is probably a question for the experts on here... I have searched for the answer on this forum but haven't found anything conclusive.

1. How many different variants of Sliver Star are there? I haven't found any talk of different variants in model hierarchy as with Goldstars e.g. St-40, 50, 60 etc.

2. I've seem pics of the innards and I'm rather confused as to which pickups were used - I have seen grey bottoms with stamps, without stamps, one instance of an "H" stamp. So the question is which pickups were used and when?

3. Is there any other info to authenticate innards, e.g. use of brass plates etc?

Wow, Gabe, thanks for that!!

I'm sure it must have been discussed before but I just could not find the thread!

What about the TS-36? I have an early 1980>

Hi guys

These specs are for 1983 up.
The SS series was released in 1978 (MY1979) and grew from there.
The headstock had a black spaghetti logo, 3 bolt neck and large headstock. Body was the same as Springysound except for the routing.
Models ranged from SS-36/38 , SS-48, SS-60 up to the SS-80.
3 standard colours and 4 custom colours were offered.
Custom colours added 2,000yen to the SS-38 and SS-48, whilst Natural added 5,000 yen to the SS-60 and SS-80.
In terms of pickups, early used black bobbins and later used grey bobbins. All had black/blue wires as opposed to Springy black/white.
Hope this helps
