AHAHAHAHAHA...Pacific Exclusive eh?
That's the first time I've ever seen anything other than Love Rock written on the headstock.....and look at the TRC....even custom orders only have the Love Rock script.
Also...some of the Luthiers who work for Tokai WILL and DO build custom orders on their own...but they leave the headstock blank...no Tokai...no Love Rock...pacific exclusive..muhahahaha
Hi Oze, what you need to remember is Tokai do a lot of shop orders in Japan so almost anything is possible. Some of the hand made ones you mention like the Sword and Neo select are built outside Tokai and retain the Tokai and love rock on the headstock.
My point,Mick, was that i've NEVER seen Tokai put ANYTHING with the Love Rock script.
Don't the custom shop orders reflect the name of the shop?
Like instead of TOKAI on the headstock it'll say the name of the store i.e.HAPPY JOY ROCK?
I'd be happy for anybody to show me a pic of a Love Rock model that has any other writing on the headstock like that "Pacific Exclusive"...not saying that it hasn't happened before...just that to the best of my knowledge I've never seen Tokai do it before.
Not necessarily Oze, this is one i was going to buy and now resides with Villager, it doesn't say "love rock" but it does have Tokai on the headstock.
I think the custom order ones you can get in nearly any format within their guidelines.
YOU IDIOT..!!!
oops...thought u were somone else for a sec
I dunno Mick..I know that Navigator did custom orders for Japanese stores that had the name of the store on the headstock but every custom order Tokai...That has been ordered via the factory has had the Tokai name on the headstock.(the ones that I've seen anyways)
I'm sure that there are a few blank headstock Tokai as well that were custom ordered that way...but i stand by my statement that I've never seen a Love Rock with something written below the Love Rock name.
Maybe they were done on the side by one of the Tokai luthiers?
Villager...you've seen these guitars before...did you dig up any history?
Ahhhhhhh, Yeah you never know for sure, on digimart you quite often see "store specials" but up until now i never really took that much notice, was there a store called "Pacific".? Villager or Togps may know a bit more, if not i'll see what i can find out.
a site called "mail order japan " search in the guitars and all is auotmatically translated into japlish, my favourite japlish being guitar has a small potatoe on the body?? = chip!!
I've seen quite a few Tokai's with writing under the Love Rock logo. Usually they say "Neo Select Model". Many of them come from a shop called " Electric Warrior Neo" or something like that. The guy that owns the shop told me he used to work for Tokai in the early 80's. He has some of these Neo Tokai's made for him but he mostly has his guitars made from the Bacchus shop and calls them "Sword". The Swords look like fantastic guitars; I would love to give one a try. He sells them for about 200,000 Yen.
I've never seen one that says "Pacific Exclusive" though. I'm sure it's for a shop.
