Hi there,
I'm new to this forum and the happy owner of a 1981 Vintage Es 100j.
Does anybody know the kinds of woods and pickups that were used n these guitars, and the differences fron the ES 150J, from the same year?
I do have a scan of the nice old catalogue, but since it is in Japanese I cannot understand anything. :-?
I could post the scan if it were of any use.
Thanks for all your knowledge and help :D

Here are the pics of the catalogue:

Congrats. Welcome to the forum. I too have an 81 ES100J (pics below) and I will say that it is one of the best guitars I've ever owned - Gibson or otherwise. I'm not sure of the differences between them and the ES150J but they might be substantial. I do know that the key difference between the ES100J(azz) and the ES100R(ock) are the pickups. The Rock model pickups are hotter.
