What Amps are You guys with the TOKAI's??

I used to use my LS70-F via a Fender Super 60, now sold
Get better tones from my new Fender Hot Rod Deluxe

Effects
Fulltone Fulldrive II overdrive pedal
Digitech Digital Delay
Digitech Muti Chorus

I know the Hot Rod Deluxe has a few problems, but I'm a tech so I've fixed all the problems from the start, lovely sounding amp for the price!

I found the Peavey Classic 30 and the Ibanez Tubescreamer 9 to be
a very nice combination with any LP-style guitar. I tried them both
with my Vintage V100 and an Epiphone and the whole enchilada
sounds sweet.

I don't own the Peavey yet, but it's on my next month's shopping list :)

I have two rigs:

JTM45 clone and THD style 2x12 with V30/G12H speakers

or

Modified Laney Klipp through a Marshall 4x12 with V30/G12H Heritage speakers

I'm currently having a JTM45/100 built and I'll be getting a new 4x12 to match it :)

I'm still using a tweed Fender Blues Deluxe (US made) bought new in 1993. I still haven't found anything I like better, and it doesn't kill me lugging it up and down stairs as it's only a 1 x 12. Great clean sounds, excellent reverb, and good overdrive, even if it lacks a bit of gain.

So how did you mod the Hot Rod hawkeye? The HRD should be the perfect amp for me, but I reckon they ruined the tone of the BD when they increased the gain. I'm intrigued to know what you did.

The amp I really want is one of the Fender Vibroverb 2 x 10 combos they made briefly in the early 90s. This amp doesn't even have an overdrive channel, but they sound so nice. :p They're hard to get hold of though, and they're not cheap either when you do see them.

I need a spare amp though, and the Peavey Classic 30 seems like the most obvious choice. They sound good, and they don't cost a lot secondhand on eBay, so I might well try one of them.

I would love to just plug into the amp like kmarccoco (I did for years), but I need a bit more overdrive for a few songs with the band I'm in now, so I use a Tubescreamer too, and I've just started messing about with a wah, which is fun if you use it sparingly.

Marshall JTM-45 clone by Ceriatone, 4x12 cab loaded with Greenbacks and a Marshall Powerbrake to keep the volume down!

Great for clean & crunch but a bit squishy for anything too high gain.

Cool! Take me to your leader!

Third year with my Crate V3112 combo. Changed the tubes ones, no complaints, some compliments. In my opinion the most underrated combo ever.

Ah....sharp one you are

Sold the standard Bad Cat Cub II (15watt with reverb). My new one is a Custom Shop Cub II but is 30 watts with reverb and an added tremolo channel. Couldn't pass it up. Marvelous class A amp and perfect for gigs.

The first one was nice but at 15 watts, it really broke up badly at gig level volume. My 15 watt Fender Blues Juniors on the other hand sound great cranked up at gig level - really ballsy with nice, natural overdrive without getting distorted. These are my go amps for most gigs (whether I mic them or not) - but I need to bring my Dunlop Univibe stomp box for vibrato effects.

Vox TLSE Modeler
