Yes, but it's not a job a beginner should attempt. I'm not sure how much a pro would charge for the job, but it would probably be less than the cost of a new set of pickups (depending on the pickups, of course).
On the other hand, you could look at this as an opportunity for you to experiment with new pickups without risking your originals. They're good, but there's better out there and converting them would be a lot of effort that could be avoided.
