This may not be one of Santana’s most popular instrumentals but it has always been one of my favourite songs! Thanks to my two very good friends, Dave and Larry, we put together a version that I’ve wanted to do for the longest time!

I used three Tokais on this track: An LS136F satin Violin Finish, LS129 Gold Top and an LS136F Cherryburst.

My first thought was to do a completely different take on the song but after listening to the original I realised that the song is perfect so why fix what ain't broke! This is therefore my tribute to a guitar player who has been and still is a great influence in my life.

The only change that we made was to the length of the song... the original version being just too short! Dave put together the new arrangement, played the keys and bass; and Larry played the drums and percussion.
I hope that you enjoy our version of this beautiful song.

Love this! All three Tok's look and sound amazing.

What was the rest of the rig?

Thanks. The guitars were played straight into a Kemper rack and recorded directly into the DAW. I also connected a speaker cab in the booth to help with a bit of interaction between the gtrs and Kemper.

Cheers.
