Best Bang for the Buck?

Hey guys, I have about a 1000 USD budget. What would be the best bang for my buck in regards to getting a Les Paul. Would something like a vintage Greco EG 59-70 or An EG 800? Or perhaps a newer tokai?

What do you guys think?

there are plenty of (potential) options both older & newer; IMO you shouldn't limit yourself to just Greco, or Tokai
