Hi all,

I was searching for a Les Paul, always playing (and happily) Fender and wanted to find new sounds and try different guitar brands..

I was told thousands of times than nowadays Tokai rate between quality and price was really better than Gibson's. A lot of good friends, guitar shop owners recommended me to go for a Tokai Les Paul.

I've found a seller that offers me a Tokai HLS 360, almost new, very well treated, quite good price.. but I can't find info about this guitar. He told me that is a superspecial model, difficult to find, made with the best quality standards of Tokai, almost near to a Gibson R9.. any of you could confirm or expand this info? Any web / link to read some details? Any recommendation? Any place to check its serial number?

Thanks a lot!!!

A future Tokai owner (I hope!), zigoreto

I had already seen that thread and the link but.. model I'm referring to doesn't appear in the index catalogue..

Hugs from Spain!

This might help https://www.mylespaul.com/threads/anyone-know-difference-in-tokai-hls-vs-ls.247446/

8) HLS360 is simply a hibiki version of LS360? if so just add the hibiki special specs to LS360 you get the specs of HLS360. not sure if there was a japan premium class model called LS360 existed before. you might wanna email to hibiki/tokai for the absolute infos.

8) this store still sells a new 2015 LS360 for about $2000 USD which is super price because of this guitar is a outlet guitar with a few minor scratches? it shows some great pics of LS360 plus its specs. my guess for HLS360 is that if you add the hibiki special specs to this guitars specs then you get whats for HLS360?

8) the hibiki HLS series special specs are ..... "the 59 pickup" & "the 59 plus pickup".....the vintage neck angle of 3.8 not the regular tokai 4.5.....very thin lacquer finish.....etc

Hibikis feels a bit different than other regulars LS and the neck is sligthly slimmer. 59 plus is stronger then regular MKII but nice. Very rare and hard t get Tokais.

Can't speak for the hibiki version but I've got the UlS-360! it was sold to me as a ULS-150 and says ULS-150 on the certificate, I Paid $2800 AUD, but it came with sprague black buties, Madagascan rosewood finger board, Hondurian mahogany back and nibs on the frets which indicates a ULS-360.

Best guitar I've ever played!
