i have a korean made love rock (no seriel no i assume its an early one)
it plays fantastic but i am thinking of upgrading most of the harware on it

the nut is plastic so the obvious replacement would be a bone item BUT i have a 1980 washburn hawk and that has a brass nut and i do like the sound from the brass

any advice would be great

ps i bought a blackstar ht1r i love it

please be gentle been playing 15 month now

Don't know about the Korean made Love Rocks, but the current Chinese made ones have bone nuts.

I would suggest bone.

Been playing only 15 months and you're nailing the Back in Black riff, and some other great rhythm riffs...that's excellent, keep going, you look naturally talented, you'll go a long way.

Enjoy the guitar, anything that says Tokai on the headstock is a great guitar.

15 months and you're already losing sleep over things like nut material?

My suggestion is Tusq, which is synthetic ivory. Brass would kill the Les Paul vibe IMO.
