What type of finish does a '84 goldstar sound strat have?

I just bought a tokai strat(don't have it yet) and I'm curious about the finish...

It's a mid '80s(not 100% sure about the exact date) goldstart strat in candy apple red, with rosewood fretboard. Can someone tell me if the finish is nitro?

As far as I can tell my recently aquired '84 goldstar has nitro,
but I don't know what the model is.

But does it matter anyway :roll:

Hi Guys,

Your guitar will have a 90% chance of a poly finish - thats the ratio of poly to nitro finishes used at Tokai.

GB, tell me the letter stamped on the bottom of your pickups and I'll tell you the finish.

Cheers, I'll get the pups out at the weekend and report back.

Barry - I thought Strats sounded better with most of the finish removed anyway aka SRV, Rory G etc

I'll be taking the battery acid to mine soon
