Hello.
I'm looking for a "cheap" LP and I saw some LS-80 on ebay.co.uk.
How great are that guitar ?
How is the neck profile ?

Thanks a lot.
Regards.

I own an LS80 from 1985 and I love it to death..!!!
I DID notice in Rich's description on his site that the LS80 has a solid mahogany back...unless things have changed spec wise lately the LS80 has a 2 piece back.
But they are a brilliant guitar without a doubt.

Yes, i mean - as in, solid bits of wood, not weight relieved, drilled or swiss cheesed in any way. They are a two piece back...from two bits of solid wood.

Identical profile to an LS150...if you play an LS150 and an LS90 side by side you wont feel a difference.
And I'll tell you something else, if I gave you an LS150 and an LS90, same colours, you'd struggle to tell me which one is which.

The LS90's and the LS85's are awesome.

A friend of mine's been gigging and recording with his two G Les Pauls for a decade or two...a Standard and a Studio.
Yesterday before going to his gig he dropped in and took a brand new LS85 Gold Top to gig with last night...guitars never been played before, brand new.
He changed the strings to a set of 11's, dropped the action a tad and went onstage.
First set he had a little trouble with the tuning, second set after the guitar had an hours play on it the tuning was spot on, no problem.

He played through the identical rig he usually plays his LP's through, so he knows his tone down to a tee.
He was blown away, he had his usual LP Standard tone spot on, and he said he felt like he was playing his 10 year old Standard.

He bought the guitar today, and wants a few more...he wont be gigging the LP's anymore. :)

Here's his regular LP Standard into a TSL602 recorded tone...I'll post clips of his LS85 next week.

That price is almost $200 U.S. more than I paid for an almost brand new 2008 LS100Q. and, what's up with shipping? Above it says 55 quid and down below it says 10???

Sorry, maybe thats shipping cost to me. Not a great deal, but not a bad deal either for a great guitar I'd bet. 8)

Thanks for the answers.
I can have a LS 90 directly from Japan for the same price. Should I prefer this option ?

It really does help so many discussions on here if people add their location to their profile. Like this:

So please add it - we do need to know. Thanks.
