Dear friends, please help to identify this guitar.
Seller told it is ALS60CS 1985'.
But I'm not sure.

In several minutes I will add some close up images of it.

I'd think it's a korean.
But it could be a mij US/UK market one (with fair but weird headstock)
What's the point doing fake korean ones anyway? :D

Do you have closer pictures of the TOM?

Headstock is for export models - we have them like that here in the UK.
TRC has been replaced - was no doubt a three screw one originally.
Rear plastic covers are cream not black.
No serial number.

Everything would point to it being a Made in Korea model probably late 90's early 2000s.

No way is it a 1985 MIJ LS60....

best,

John.

I have removed TRC - there were only 2 holes for the screws (upper and lower ones), not 3. I can make a photo of the TR without cover soon.

I didn't knew korean tokai had long tenon! Though I'll never buy one, I'd say it's nice feature!
How much did you pay for this?
Btw, the name ALS seems alright as far as I know.

The last image.

Bridge is Nashville Style, I understand.
No serail number, no model mark.
No "Made in.." stamp.
"Sam Sung" pick-ups.
Oval cavities for pickup screws, not square.
Correct form of headstock and TRC.
Correct TRC screws number.
Long neck tennon.
But it is rather heavy and sounds great.

Have all MIJ Tokais serial number impressed (inked) or there may be exception? From which date Korean Tokai started manufacturing? Mid of 90'? Do they have no serials until 2000'+?

Is that a joint in the neck below the headstock? (2nd pic).

Mike

This is a mystery for me - the nature of such color transition. Joint or nitro finish - I don't know :(

A few more pics in different light of that bit would help. I haven't seen a join there on a Korean model, but I'm almost certain that no Japanese Tokai would have a neck joined like that. If it is a join.
