Well sometimes you got to risk you know :) :)

The whole purpose of out friendly little forum here is that you don't have to take the risk, or certainly you can reduce it by asking questions before you part with your hard earned cash!!

If it's a good ST-80 then that's not a bad price, if it's not that's a lot of money!

Exactly! You obviously needed to ask, or you wouldn't have posted this topic!

Imagine it wasn't the "real deal". What would you have done then? Either its 1000 euros down the drain, or you continue the fraud by trying to sell it back on ebay. Seems like a very bad risk to me.

Forum member villager has a website with a bunch of similar guitars guaranteed original for not much more:

http://www.japanguitars.co.uk/page 6 Tokai.html

also togps usually has a few up his sleeve--click the banner above: www.tokaiguitar.de

That guitar you bought looks good, but I hope you got some kind of guarantee from the seller that it is an ST-80!

well the guy said that this guitar is real as said on tokai forums now it seems no one knows if its real or not. Also the seller doesnt wan to tell me what letter is stamped on the pickups....

He has the pickups out so why won't he tell you whats on them..?? And also this model has the model number stamped at the end of the fret board, it is barely visible in the pics, ask him what that number is, it should be an 80.

Mick

Asked him to post some more pictures still didt receive a response. He doesnt ever respond to me. eh

It says in the listing Serial Number 9005238, I'm no Springy expert but isn't that totally wrong?? Kitarist, have you paid, if you paid how did you pay?

If you haven't paid I suggest you don't! unless the seller can come up with some reassurance that this is an ST80.

Nope i still didnt pay. and he isnt answering my questions either..

I have another question to ask... how good are Tokai GS 100 (new ones..)?

just curious :D :D

ebay should implent a tiny comment system so everyone can add a comment on item that he is looking at.... would be safer

Well that's something! As I said unless you can be given some evidence that this is an ST80, do't buy it. The seller will be hacked off, and rightly so, it's you fault for not asking first, but at least you haven't lost your money

Never played one but assume they are a similar standard to the equivalent Fender Japan, tokai made models, i.e. very good but not in the same league as a good vintage ST80!

Which brings me to another point, you do get good ST80's and great ST80's, buying a guitar like this from ebay, is a big gamble! Buying one from an established specialist seller is a lot safer, if you are prepared to pay the small premium for doing so.

Also, good work on the Ceriatone forum!! Great amps, I love mine

So the Tokai GS 100 are also good nice...

Thanks for the nice comment about the forum hehe :D :D

Read again what I said "not in the same league as a good vintage ST80"

You can get a really nice guitar for not a lot of cash, but the difference between a nice guitar and a great guitar is IMO worthg paying the extra for.

well yea thats true but now i'm into an TOKAI ST 50,Greco 600 model, fender MIJ or an Tokai GS 100. But i t hink those old MIJ guitars are better.

How do Tokai ST 50 or 60 compare? i missed a great deal on a TOKAI ST60 it was a real beauty
