This question has to asked often - please link me to answer if necessary. It may be a a "sensitive" question though:

If one lives in the US then how goes on get Tokai guitars? Who are the major retailers?

If I want a USG 60 C.H. - understandably this is probably not carried by US retailers. Do I buy from an "overseas" retailer who'll ship it?

Are there restrictions?

Thanks

You will probably have the best luck finding em on ebay. They also pop up occasionally on member classifieds sections of guitar web forums. You will not find any brand new models with the "lawsuit" headstock at retailers. You may find a used one though, but it fairly uncommon to find them at the major retailers.

If you have to import them, you MAY wind up paying customs duties as well. Shipping from Japan in itself is around $120 from most Japanese sellers.

There is one on ebay/uk right now,but i dont know ,he will ship it overseas.

Is that a Japanese one? I assumed it's Korean as the seller doesn't mention country of origin.

Really? Unwise of the seller not to mention that fact - or show the MADE IN JAPAN writing in one of the pics. He might have got more than ?232 if he had sold it better.

Of course there's always the possibility that the TRC has been changed and it went for more than it was worth!

Aside from eBay, are there any established Japanese vendors tha ship new guitars overseas like Ishibashi does for Edwards, etc.?

On eBay, there are also Japanese dealers and collectors that ship internationally:

I haven't dealt with him directly, but chingo123 is a well regarded dealer as well, I believe:

Absolutely (sorry for the omission). He's got a decent ST60 for sale with E pups and not a bad price.

Are you sure ... ????? The Samurai with his really overprized offers and his strange approach here ????

Well you're paying for entertainment value with koiz. And he can justify his high prices by the need to pay for all the guitar lessons he's obviously had. From somebody....

I disagree, he has a style of his own that's all.
Sort of out of focus, out of tone, wobbly tone.
