Well, lately Gibson QC hasn't been up to snuff. Tokai has a reputation for more consistent QC, so I would say that the term "Gibson quality" has a different meaning these days. I know what you're asking though.
The models you mentioned are all poly finished and any flame/quilt is a veneer. The lowest model that has a nitro finish is the 2008 LS150 plaintop (formerly LS135). It is roughly spec'd to Gibson R8 specs, but won't have the fret edge binding. I think the 2008 LS165 (formerly LS150) is the lowest nitro finished model that has figuring.
As far as playability goes, most people say these give Gibson a run for the money, and sometimes beat them outright. I'd say overall, that these Tokais, including those models you mentioned, have better bang for the buck factor. I've got an older model LS135 and a Tokai-made Greco, and I have to say that I like them better than either Gibson LP that I own, and I like those two Gibbys aplenty!
