Ladies and gentlemen i have found a retailer on eBay who actually has truss rod covers that will fit (at least mine is a 135) the ES series.

The quality is not fantastic (i had to trim off some flash) but its more than usable and looks the nuts.

Am i allowed to post the users id or shop home page here?

(please note i AM NOT the seller of these, i just thought there have been a few people in the past that wanted bell covers and didn't want to drill)

I don't see why not - members regularly advertise stuff in the classified section, and post links to eBay ads.

Thats the sellers shop and you just have to search for truss rod cover i think.

It is a PERFECT fit on my 2007 es135.

Hi!
I got these TRC?s in my shop too, since a long time, but they do not fit on most Tokais! On some they fit, and on some they do not. So the best way is to ask for the distance of the two screw holes, and the decide.

So it was just a little luck, that this one fits! :D

cheers, "ACY"

To fit or not no to fit...that is the question! :D

Not all Tokai headstocks have the same size so holes are not located at the same place, "lower" models got a smaller ones. Will try Rockinger and gtops Reborn self made ones and report results for you all. I would ask other forum members doing the same with their Love Rocks so we would have more info....

Well all seems ok on it - heres a video of her (un-named so far) being played

The truss rod cover is obviously altered but also the tone knobs are changed to black and the screws in the pickup housings have been changed to black.

I've just ordered one of the ?5 Gibbo type TRCs from here:

http://www.axesrus.com/axeplates.htm

The TRC from my 98 Gibson LP Special fits my LS85S, so I'm hoping this will too. Will let you know soon....

Cool website - let us know if it fits because I'd like to retrofit my Tokais with Gibbo TRC's.

Out of curiosity, does the length (or hole spacing) on the Tokai TRC's vary by type (SG, LP, ES, etc)? Did they on Gibsons?

The TRC from axerus has just arrived - it fits perfectly. This is it, still with the cellophane coating on it:

?5 seems a fair bit cheaper than 20 Euros to me, & delivery is free within the UK. Axerus is a very useful company to know.

Looks a lot better than standard. I know Tokai changed from the correct Gibson 'bell' shape to their own design in 1980 for legal reasons, but I wonder why they again to the current cover which looks awful!

Prices are rising: $ 56 for a used TRC - and the auction is still running ...

Some people have more money than sense - it's a little piece of plastic! :-?

My spare Gibson TRC fit perfect on my LS150. By the way, great site here - loads of information.

You can always use the standard Gibson trc - it's just a bit longer than the Tokai cover and you'll have to drill another hole on the top end. The Tokai hole can be filled with wood filler, smoothed flat and wiped clean with a wet cloth. After drying and dabbed with black enamel - hardly noticable - and completely hidden with the Gibbo trc over it.

I got a Tokai ES 120 a few months ago and a Gibson Historic cover with the wider bevel fit perfectly...the wholes lined up just right.

In my LS125F, Gibson's cover fits perfect, but I do prefer the original. I love my Tokai as is it, not as a wannabe.

Yeah, but the current originals are just plain ugly. Why couln't they stay with the semi bell shape with the pointy ends from the 80's?

Because they prefer to spend more time selecting good woods and finishing better their guitars than cloning every micro-detail from Gibson?
