UK 'dimple'

Bored at work and just thought.... Has anyone removed the dimple from a UK headstock to make it look like it should? The thought came about after I saw an Epiphone on ebay that someone had 'modified' it looked about an inch too long!!!

I saw breezy (with the non fender headstock) that had been re-profilled to look like a fender one. On paper it shouldn't have worked, but (from the pictures at least) it did look like he'd done a reasonable job.

In all fairness I don't know why the dimple is such a source of resentment - I tend to think that the word "Tokai" just below it tends to be more of a giveaway as to it's non gibson origin

I have a TJ60 that I contemplated "De-dimpling" at one time.

I'm glad that I got over it and never made the attempt as odds are I would have totally 'effed it up.

It doesn't bother me in the slightest now!

Now an Epiphone? I'd take a coping saw to that ugly monstrosity in a second!

More accurately, "double dimple" UK headstock. At the risk of sounding pedantic, a dimple is a concavity. The Tokai Japan, and Gibson, open book headstock has a single dimple. The UK headstock has two, with a convexity (or zit) separating them.

So clinically speaking, you are contemplating a zit-ectomy.
