I have never noticed this before.

guitar hiro gave me a heads up. Apparently his LS320 and the one owned by member rupert have the dot over the a instead of the i...

Maybe a consequence of small batches and a special project team handling it so it didn't have the same oversight and wasn't caught early on?

Need to check numbers to see if in fact these are some of the first made.

Thanks for starting this thread.

Yes, back in the day there were a few LS-320 examples with the I dot over the right side of the A letter.

My LS-320 is a 2000 example so, it's obvious Tokai produced a few LS-320 examples over a period of several years with this anomaly. I believe my LS-320 was originally sold by Big Boss Freaks Market as the warranty card is stamped as such.

I could never wrap my head around why the highest level LS model would have such a boo boo on the head stock face. I would have thought the quality control for such a high end guitar would have been multiple times better than this but I guess not. Weird s***.

In the world of numismatics such examples are typically worth multiple times more than 'normal' examples because of anomalies such as this. I guess Tokais are a different story?

LOL

EDIT:
As far as your comment, "Need to check numbers to see if in fact these are some of the first made."

I believe a general time frame for LS-320 production was circa 1996/1997 to circa 2005. I'm sure TF member villager and others could chime in on those dates with potentially a more accurate accounting.
