I am new here and have a couple of questions to find my feet with this 'new' guitar.
I picked up a cream Custom Edition Strat with rosewood fretboard for my daughter.
The finish is really first class and seems really well made and plays very easily.
The headstock appears to be the 70s Fender shape.
I just have a couple of questions.

Are these generally well regarded in comparison to say US or Japanese Fenders?
Other Tokai Strats?
I am guessing the date at mid-80s but there is no serial number - is this correct?
The neck plate is three screw with a sticker with number '38'.

Also there is no whammy bar but am thinking about adding one.
Can I swap in a Fender whammy bar? I don't really like Floyd Roses.

Any comments and/or tips about this model will be helpful.

Cheers

pictures would help but the quality is good. 6mm whammy bar.

Thank you for this link. The guitar is being serviced and i will have it back in a week.
That catalogue is quite something....
Once I was able to pull myself away from the cover I think I have worked out it is most likely an SD 651 in Cream with 3 single coil pickups. I will recheck this when it comes back to see if the pups are original.
I will post some images next week.
