I have the opportunity to buy this Tokai Les Paul tomorrow for $275 USD.
Seller says no breaks or cracks. Is very solid and plays/sounds very good.
I am good at setups and parts repair/replace.
Wondering if anybody here can provide any insight? advice?
Is it worth $275?
I can't seem to find much info about exact year/model/ect.
Should I buy it? Is it worth putting some upgrades in it?
Here is his sale ad:
Korean-made Tokai Les Paul Custom copy. Date of manufacture isn't certain but it is approximately a mid-90's model.
These guitars of Korean manufacture don't have serial numbers, so that makes dating problematic.
This one is a copy of a Norlin-era Gibson, with the volute on the back of the neck.
The guitar has the dents and dings one would expect from an instrument this age, but it is in very good physical condition and excellent playing condition.
The finish has yellowed to a cool Randy Rhoads sort of yellow.
