Get the SG196, totally worth the extra money. Upgraded hardware and electronics: aluminum tailpiece, brass saddles better pots and toggle switch, upgraded tuners Also the wood is sorted for weight and grain, guitar is lighter and more resonant. Lacquer finish etc.

What makes you think that the finish is lacquer? This guitar is a vintage series guitar and they come with a poly finish.
