AST 56 - Looking for info

Hi, that is in deed a very late 1984, or 1985 guitar. The AST 56 has the T in Tokai that does not look like a F from the strat it is based on. The TST 56 from 83 / early 84 has the script T that looks like Leo put it there. These were made for the USA market, thus the pointy headstock, and you...

    1983 Tokai strat ??

The body is legit, but probably resprayed at the time of the cavity hack. The neck pocket is a dead giveaway. The countersink around the holes, almost as if the tip of the chuck was sunk in about 1 MM and the 4 pin holes. Also, look at the unmolested PU cavity, the two holes where the PU...

    Sunburst 1983 / 1984 sunburst

I just got this last night from EBAY. It is an odd bird. I say so because the stampings for the neck are a great match. BUT it is a maple neck TST-56 and it has all the holes for an 11 hole pickguard. ( The hole is missing for the standard 8 hole pickguard ) It may be the style from the 83...

WTB Tokai ST body, Preferably Sen - Ash wood

So I went on RINKYA and bought not onebut two ST guitars. Both Oly White. One rosewood, one maple. So... It turns out the Rosewood has the older "T" and the maple has the newer "T". I was going to "steal" a body for my TST-56 that I gave away the body a long time ago. Turns out, the pickguards...

WTB Tokai ST body, Preferably Sen - Ash wood

Hi I'm looking for a Tokai ST body, ans 80s TST or AST would be awesome, anything made of Sen is really good too. Vintage White would be a slam dunk, but any color is OK. For mounting holes are better than three. I think the E series Fender Squires are correct, but I'm not 100 % sure. Really...

Just a TST-62 I put together off of EBAy and Rinkya !

My only red Tokai ! with my last TST, bought in tact ! Had to get the pickguard custom made from the original, and a Fender Pure Vintage trem ( finding a Final Prospec with a steel block is getting impossible ! ) Electronis, E pickups, and tuners are all 1984 ish originals !

Hi, Do you think this is a tokai body?

I am thinking of buying this body. I though it looked like a Tokai, the ad is in Japanese, and mentions Tokai. The lack of countersinking around the neck bolt holes, in the pocket, concern me ... I have another Tokai body with out the inked codes where paint was masked off, but this has none...

    tst 56 value?

I got one for 399, but it came without the "Final Prospec" bridge and had a dimarzio in the bridge position. That's still cheap. Probably$500 - $700 , especially if you have the tweed case in good condition. I see them higher on EBAY, but they sit there forever. This is in US dollars.

.... The one that is third from the left is the new one. It is a TST-56 with a blond finish. It looks a lot like all the three Olympic White ones. Left to right ... Probably a, AST-56, has a new decal (the Springy Sound one from e-bay, I bought it that way) , AST 56 "Bitsa" I put together from...

Looking for Final Prospec Saddles / bridge and single "

Hi, I just bought a beautiful TST-56. I believe the bridge was swapped out. it is non ferrous, and the wammy bar s that fit my other Tokais are too small. I have a tokai bridge that is just a little older, and doesn't have the stamped saddles. I'd like to find Final Prospec saddles or an entire...

What Did I Buy? Is it really an 1985 AST-50 Please help :-)

Here's a picture of the nice Vee neck I promised... for Jonah65 My curiosity did get the best of me so I pulled the foil. No markings on the body ( that's similar to the one from a year ago, bolted to an AST56 ) .. I suspect that it started life with a rosewood neck and an 11 hole...

What Did I Buy? Is it really an 1985 AST-50 Please help :-)

Yes, it has a real nice fat Vee neck, A little fatter feeling than the AST - 56 in the middle. Thank you so much for your comments. I'll post an image of the neck shape soon. It playes REALLY well. Thank you, yea, the E's are hard to come by, especially in the States. I have a blender pot on a...

What Did I Buy? Is it really an 1985 AST-50 Please help :-)

OK, it finally got here. I know a little more than I did. Definitely has a refinish on the headstock. You have to hold it up to the light at the right angle, but you can see it in the waterslide is not original, and at just the right angle the top surface shows lighter color. From most angles...
