    F/S: 1983 Tokai 57 PAF Zebra pickups

I'm not sure If they were mounted wrongly. If it was the case then I'd thing it was the way the guitar came from the factory. A have a couple of short clips of my super-amateur noodling with them still in the LS80.

    1) 1974 Colorsound Wah-Fuzz-Straight. In very good cosmetic and excellent working condition. Can be used in different applications: wah can be engaged separately and along with fuzz, fuzz is only activated with the wah on. Works great, the pot is quiet without any scratchy noises. $250 +...

    How light can ST80/ST100 be?

    Cool Strats nonetheless, settebello!

    How light can ST80/ST100 be?

6 lbs 9 oz is about 2,976 kg. That's very light and I think in the 50s Strat territory. Pretty cool. But still it seems like most of them weigh 7,7 lbs. I'd say Tokai did pretty good on choosing light bodies.

    How light can ST80/ST100 be?

Seems to me most ST80s weigh around 3,5-3,6 kg (7,71-7,93 lbs.). My '79 ST80 weighs 3,3 kg (7,27 lbs.). I've had a ST50 that weighed 3,6 kg (7,93 lbs.) and that 300 grams were really noticeable, ST80 feels featherweight, ST50 felt just like my humbucker-equipped Guilds. SO my question is: how...

Would all 79 Breezy Sound TE80's maple necks have V profile? Here it says that TE-80 have U shaped neck.

body woods on tokat strat 1977-1983

Welcome, man! As far as I know Tokai only used Sen Ash as far as ash goes. Ash can be found on models starting from the lowest one- ST42. ST-45, ST-50, ST-60, ST-70, 80, 100 all can be found with sen ash as a body wood. Plus maple necks are way more abundant than rosewood ones. Now finding an...

    Matching body/neck codes misinformation?

    1973 Greco FV500 & FV900 specs

Yep, I've looked closed at another pic of that '78 FV600 and yep it's definitely not a 1-piece. But what about '73-74 FV900 which is a replica of a 1971 Gibson Medallion Flying V? Nitro or poly? As far as the body it looks like a 2-piece but at certain angles looks even like a 3-piece.

    Matching body/neck codes misinformation?

I have not, jacco. I can't really as it is not in my possession. I'm thinking it's a parts-Springy. However if so the screw spacing is narrower (just like you would find on 78 Springys) than on later Springys. And there are no extra holes. So the neck must be original to the body.

    Matching body/neck codes misinformation?

Very interesting thread. I wonder what would be the consensus on what looks to be a '78 ST-50 that has an A pickguard with E-stamped pickups (my friend from Moscow also has a ST-45 with E-stamped pickups). The codes really don't match here.

    1973 Greco FV500 & FV900 specs

Thanks for answers, guys. Although it's like you're teasing me with little bits :) so I will go ahead and ask what I'm after: 1) Were '71 Gibson Medallion Flying V replicas which in the '73 Greco catalog go by the model number FV900 finished in nitro? Also What pickups had they had? 2) that...

    1973 Greco FV500 & FV900 specs

So was only FV900 at any given year finished in nitro? And also why does a '73 FV900 Medallion looks to be two-piece body while this FV600WR looks like a one-piece? How did you manage to date it? Is there a database with Greco models and serial numbers somewhere? All I've found was a couple...
