The seller isn't providing much information to help us date this, but saying it is a CE1000 which would be Japanese. I have had Tokai made acoustics (SIGMAs) with clouding issues, but have never seen anything this extreme. There must have been something goin on with this guitar...

Gathering examples of these to sort out dates & models. So far they seem to be budget guitars not on par with Japanese or even Korean builds.

This topic has come up a lot recently. I am using this thread to place references to the lacquer finish coming from Tokai literature from the period. I am trying to find a reference from Tokai that I have seen referring to a combination of polyurethane and lacquer on some models.
