Hi, I own a ls1, bought earlier this year. Very nice guitar. Im curious about where you got that information of the German models being inferior. I actually think they may be superior, because they are "upgraded" with Faber hardware (bridge, tailpiece and pickups).

Tried my luck with gibson. In the end bought a ls1-r8, I have it for a couple of weeks and I love it. Without going into details of my recent experience of trying to buy Gibson, I have to say that, IMHO, it's not acceptable from Gibson the lack of QC they are showing. Some guitars should not...
