This is back on ebay Germany again, same seller. I was initially excited, as there don't appear to be too many bids so far, but if it reaches the same price as it did last time then it's out of my Xmas fund league....
I had a Tokai RG-43, a 330 copy, and it was a nice guitar. The lacquered fingerboard had a bit of an artificial look to it, and I had the older bolt-on neck version, but it was a really nice guitar. For ?259 I reckon it's a steal, although the one in Coda is a 330 copy like mine
Hi all,
I was looking at the Tokai guitars in Apollon Music, when I noticed that they have new Greco guitars as well. They do Zemaitis copies, I think starting around the 150,000 yen mark, and some semi-acoustics and hollow-body guitars. They did a 335 copy for 135,000 yen rrp.
They sound like...
I got a price from Apollon Music for an ES-120 to be delivered to the UK. The price, after import duty and VAT, came to about ?710. I think I've seen them discounted for ~?840 in the UK, so that's a pretty good price I think.
Hi all!
I have a Tokai RG43, albeit with a bolt-on neck. I was going to offload the guitar, but just played it again and it sounds great!
Has anyone compared this model with a real Rickenbacker 330, and if so how close does it come? It seems to come fairly close to me, it's fairly easy to get...
www.reidys.com has Tokais at very nice prices indeed, the cheapest I've seen anywhere.
I'm about to go through the VAT + duty stinger sometime this week. I ordered a Reverend guitar from the US. I have heard that it is a bit hit and miss as to whether you get charged duty and VAT, although...
Mine's a bolt-on. Are some glued? I just noticed on mine, that the bridge appears to be the wrong way round. The treble strings are running through the deep-grooved saddles. Doesn't affect the sound, which I imagine is Rickenbacker-ish as it sounds lovely for chords and arpeggios.
I guess these will replace the EU series then? They were always priced a little bit too high IMO, although I always loved the look of the Esprit Firebird-esque model in natural korina.
Any info. on whether this new manufacturing deal will bring the prices down?
I have the exact same guitar. After a period when I wasn't too sure about it, I now love it to death. I may save up eventually for the real thing, but for now it'smore than good enough.
Does anyone know how it compares to a real Rickenbacker, particularly in sound?
Cheers.
Thanks for the reply. The LS65 certainly looks like good value. One website I saw had them for the same price as the LS60. I guess the LS60 has a veneer top instead of a thicker wood top?
Hi,
I'm new here, I've had a Tokai Ricky 330 copy for a few months now. Nice guitar, not quite sure it's me though.
I've noticed that the price difference between the LS65 and LS70F is around ?150, yet the only spec. difference seems to be the tops (plain maple on LS65, flamed sycamore on...
