    Vanzandt Strat

https://www.flickr.com/photos/wulfh/sets/72157633090305361 1,500 Euro shipped and paypalled in a Vanzandt gig bag, from Belgium. The neck is a fat C and the frets vintage size. Plays very comfortably in spite of the small-ish frets. Probably something to do with the very nice neck shape. If...

    1980 Greco EGF-1200

Ships from Europe in Navigator case. The case has a nasty scratch on it but is otherwise in very good condition. Guitar is in very good condition, other than a few dings. 2,400 Euro shipped from Belgium if you wire me the money or 2,475 if you use Paypal. I bought this from Harold / Wulfman...

WTB: tokai te-80/85 and tokai FA

Thanks for pointing that out. Is it visible now? https://goo.gl/photos/tAZ9iN3HAaNyY2wa8 Wout, I tried to reply with and without the link and I still get some "authentication error". If you're interested, please email me at [email protected]. Thanks.

WTB: tokai te-80/85 and tokai FA

Are you still looking? I tried to PM you but keep getting an error message. Thinking about selling this one and I'll be in Antwerp in a few weeks. https://get.google.com/albumarchive/112069871617766987744/album/AF1QipMJsCcZttOD0zy_OzsI8kIpxWcrzBuoqFlbfWa2

    Nice ST-80 with removed logo

Well, I got outbid, but there's always another one. :) http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k203037540 I'm almost relieved, because it's really better to pay a bit more in a store and make sure it's a keeper.

    Nice ST-80 with removed logo

Thanks. I'm heading there in a week. I might get it if he drops the price 10,000 Yen this week, else I rather save my luggage space for guitars I can try out in shops. Bidding on another guitar as we speak. Will update if I get it. ;)

    Nice ST-80 with removed logo

Thanks for the replies. This one kind of speaks to me, with the fine-grained body wood and the way the 2T sunburst comes out, but many others do. I'll be headed to Japan early December so the hunt is on. :) Couldn't be any more different, but I'm pondering this one too. From all I've read...

    Nice ST-80 with removed logo

Also interested in your thoughts whether that neck could have been refinished. Note the fingerprints around the stamped 80 (not conclusive, I know) and the darker areas around the edges, as if at least the front has been refinished or oversprayed (with a refret perhaps). For instance the edge...

    Nice ST-80 with removed logo

http://page19.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/x423524562 But the thing I'm curious about: in your mind, by how much should such a guitar be discounted for the missing logo? Or put another way, if you owned one without logo, how much would it be worth to you to have the original logo? With...

    Real Springy Sound?

It's still pending, will do so when / if it finally goes through. :) I asked a friend in Japan to buy a guitar for me, as I'm heading there myself next month.

    Real Springy Sound?

Looks nice. At that price I assume it's an ST-50 or ST-60, but still a very good deal. I may be getting another coming my way too, but still to conclude the deal. :)

    1978 Springy

http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r136689731 Here's another one. Shame about the decal, but at a BIN of around 650 USD pretty reasonable.

    1978 Springy

Yeah, it's all habit / preference I guess. I find the necks on my TE-80 and ST-80 definitely too thin, so I keep them in spite of that because I really like them otherwise.

    1978 Springy

My personal favorites, are the Esparto Strats. Most have nice medium-chunky C-profile necks and have nice boards. Also more resonant than the Tokai ST-80 with RW board that I had. But most are poly. I find the ST-80 necks a bit too small (combination of V-shape and medium neck depth), and...

Looking for Springy Sound ST80 > FOUND ONE

    1978 Springy

Yes, by the time you get that in the EU that's an expensive guitar. And it looks great, but there's no guarantee you'll love it. I've never played a bad golden era MIJ, but not all are "special". I made the seller an offer too, but no response. I don't want to buy at a price where I'll take...

    What's this? Bought it as 1979 TE-80

Yes, if it's nitro, a drop of nail polish remover (keep wet tissue ready to wipe it away after 1-2 seconds), will cloud the paint. You can then polish it up again. If it's poly (below TE-80), it will be like water, won't do a thing. You should test the sunburst though, since that's the...

    What's this? Bought it as 1979 TE-80

Did you do an acetone test to see if the finish is nitro? If it is it looks like a TE-80. Here's some photos of my TE-80. The font of the stamp at the base of the neck looks similar. https://picasaweb.google.com/112069871617766987744/TokaiTE80 What looks a bit different is that mine has...
