    Newbie with Tokai ES-60

I recall a number of other people pissing you off too and you threatening to throw your toys out of your pram. On numerous occasions someone would post a message with a "Captain Hyperbole" cartoon for example. That wasn't me you know. "Do me a favour Lief, you seem to have a problem with me...

    Newbie with Tokai ES-60

The difference is that I don't sell cameras. You supplied the country of manufacture, but regarding your other comments, we would not expect you to say anything else given that you are a Tokai dealer, which the OP probably did not know. Anyway, maybe someone can work out the age of the guitar.

Crikey, I'm really surprised you like them. (A naughty comment, I know.)

    Guitar and transport

Thanks, the (electric) guitar was new, and supplied by a dealer. Not one of the well known dealers talked about on this forum I might add.

It wasn't slight intonation, more like 15 minutes with a screwdriver, but thanks for the reply.

    Guitar and transport

I received a guitar from a shop, and the intonation was out on a couple of strings, and also there is slight buzzing on the low E and A if plucked with some enthusiasm. Is it likely that these 'issues' could have arisen during transport, or due to changes in humidity and temperature?

    Korean Tokai Goldtop: Value?

On a side issue, I've noticed that the stain is very heavy, hiding the wood grain. I noticed that too on an Epiphone Ultra LP guitar. Is this typical of MIK/MIC, and if so, is it to hide something, such as laminates? Or is it just as it is!

    Tokai Inlays

I was making an attempt (possibly failed) at humour by referring to a stereotypical image of a southern states citizen: straw in mouth, cowboy hat, dungarees, standing on a porch, banjo in hand. We all know that is not how the people really are.

    Tokai Inlays

Yes, but then it would not be a true Les Paul copy. It is even said that the Tokai workers have to regularly chant phrases such as "Yee haaa" and "You're not from around these parts, are you boy" to get into the mind set of a southern states Gibson worker. (Okay, that second part was a lie.)...

    Tokai Inlays

Well you might not have directly used the terms liar and cheat, so perhaps I was unfair on you, but you implied or hinted at his purposefully trying to make the inlay look worse than it is. I think the photo comes from an ebay sale. You would not expect an ebay seller to purposefully make the...

New gear month (includes Gibson LP 50s tribute) - pics heavy

Very much so, thanks. I can't understand why Gibson have such problems when other US makers such as Taylor can make guitars in the states with high QC. Then again, Taylor are renowned for use of automation (CNC etc), and from Gibson marketing blurb, they seem to do a lot by hand as if that is a...

New gear month (includes Gibson LP 50s tribute) - pics heavy

I can already see the pools of tears and hear the loud wailing from Diamond as he reads the above. That is a shame. What is it about the guitar that seems cheaper than the sticker price indicates?

    Tokai Inlays

I don't think there is any enhancing going on. I think you made that suggestion before, perhaps on another thread, something about choosing the lighting to make the inlay look worse. Come on now, even in your photo the inlay is not perfect, it has a minor cosmetic flaw. Rather amusingly you have...

    Gibson 50's Tribute Les Paul

I think they ignore emails asking if an item is in stock. If it is on the web site, it is for sale. At least that's my understanding.

    Gibson 50's Tribute Les Paul

I think Guitar Village have a few.

    LS105Q's

I''ll leave that to you. So why do you denigrate Gibson all the time? Sorry but it is pretty obvious when someone is pushing a product, and putting down the competition. You know, I think your posts sometimes have the opposite effect to that intended. You need to chill out and not go into...

    Gibson 50's Tribute Les Paul

It does look nice, with the maple grain on top, but take a look at the bottom end. Are you sure that is a 2 piece body? Probably does not matter though.

Are you selling it already? http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/msg/1967277474.html :o Presumably fraudulent.

For goodness sake what is this ********. One member regularly denigrates Gibson, and dismisses any negative comment about Tokai. Is this the Tokai marketing forum? +1.
