MIJ Tokai with a 6 figure serial number and 3 screws?

Thank you everyone. I can see no evidence that it is MIJ. The seller is adamant it is a MIJ. I'm walking away. Hopefully no one else buys it believing it to be a MIJ. I know the seller is convinced but this is to his financial gain. It's in his interests only as he can benefit from selling it as...

MIJ Tokai with a 6 figure serial number and 3 screws?

Hi, Looking at a Tokai SG3 it has a 6 figure serial number and 3 screws on the truss rod cover is this a MIJ? I am thinking it has to be Korean or possibly made in China? How is it possible to tell. Seller says it's Japanese but what evidence should I be looking at?

    Tokai Les Paul Junior

I'm quite interested in getting a Tokai Les Paul Junior. At the moment I am just researching. I've seen some pictures of a good looking cherry Tokai Les Paul Jr and found a TV yellow Tokai LP Jr on ebay which looked different as the pick up was not in the back but in the middle. My query is...

    Tokai LS models

Many thanks for all the replies. To be fair I have found the models bewildering. The LS120, I was told today is a 2012 issue, although when I look at the 2012 catalogue I can't see it there at all. I noticed a nice LS150 (which is 2005) in the classifieds and there are 2 Love Rock II guitars...

    Tokai LS models

OK is there a big difference between an LS120 and an LS150? Both guitars are around 2005 - 2008.

Sold: 2002 Tokai Love Rock II - One of the first - Sold

Interesting guitar. I'm unsure what this actually sounds like. Do you have any sound files? Can you get a hard case for this guitar? Thanks, Gary

    Tokai LS models

I have done a bit of research. So I know that the higher the number the higher the quality. I have seen a few LS75 guitars for sale these look very good to me. I got sucked in when reading about the LS 200 and these seem too good for me. So I was wondering about the 100, 150 and 160 as they...

    ES 335 clone

Thanks Stratman, I am prepared to be patient, it will give me time to raise the cash.

    ES 335 clone

They certainly have the looks and more importantly from what I am hearing they also have the sound. How much would a used ES120 from the 80's or 90' compare in price to a more recently built MIJ model? Also would it be better to buy new? I would be looking at buying in the UK. Were some...

    ES 335 clone

Thanks for that . I think I would be looking at a Japanese ES 120 or 130 perhaps an ES 100 although I am not exactly sure what this model is other than a 335 clone. Are the older ones a better bet than the newer ones? Also how would an 80's Korean Epiphone Sheraton hold up to one of these...

    ES 335 clone

Okay is there a big difference between old MIJ builds of these guitars and more recent MIJ builds? Done a bit of reading not sure what the difference is between a 120 and a 130? Also which guitars came with a nitro finish? Strats are preferred in a nitro finish is this the same for a 335...

    ES 335 clone

I have hankered after an actual ES 335 for a long time. I am happy with the guitars I have. Mainly 2 Strats and a Tele and an acoustic Epiphone Blues Master. The rich smooth tone of the 335 is still a draw. I need to get rid of a Traynor 40 valve amp, a Westbury Deluxe and a Sessionette. When I...

    ES 335 clone

Hi, What is the best sounding ES 335 clone? Also what sort of price should I be looking at? My guess is that Tokai do make a good value great sounding clone but what is it and where is it from? Any feedback most welcome.
