Around 13 years ago I bought myself an es130 for my 30th. It was a cracking guitar, but I felt a bit hesitant using it as it was a tad delicate.
I then sold it on, and bought a PRS DGT. I had that for around 10 years or so and decided that considering how much PRS guitars had risen in value to...
Thanks for that, my train of thought is to get the cash uptogether and then try and spot the right guitar for him. It's just a bit of a bummer that the prices have risen so much. Ideally i'd like to go for a new one. But having said that, let somebody else take the hit on a new one and get a...
Hi guys and gals
Ive not been on here in a while trying to sort out various bits and pieces. I hope alls well. :)
I went to a friends bbq over the weekend and i was approached for some advice. Her partner is going to be the big 40 this year. She want's to get him, because he's always wanted...
Ha ha, I like to think the guys or gals i play with wouldn't be soo childish.
Even though as a student of Hung Gar Kung Fu your encouraged to avoid conflict, when somebody disrepects you so blatantly like that "singer". Well you'd have to defend yourself or react. Nobody should be treated like...
I think thats why the stomp boxes are so popular. It's the fact you can just get in, and get the sound your after. The multi effects make sense to me, if i was in say a covers band. You could just program the sound your after, and then forget about it. My problem has always been I'm drawn to...
Well i used to play in a 8 piece funky-hip hop band. With the odd drum and bass song. I never used to used them that much to be honest. I like to think of them like spices in cooking :)
I should have really bought a multi effects pedal, i may look into one. I've been thinking about a Nova...
I've had a slight addiction to the little stomp boxes. I could seriously get into collecting them i think.
I've created a set on flickr which details the lunacy i've gone through. I should go towards a nova station and a wah wah really. But i just love the hands on aspect of it all. this is...
Hi Guys and gals
Can anybody point me in the direction of any websites that have useful information on arranging and space saving for guitar pedal boards? I thought i'd limited myself to how many pedals i'd ahem "need". But i managed to pick up a cheap voodoo lab tremolo pedal on ebay the...
I've been scrolling through youtube as im sure everybody else for years now. I have an account, but its only some really shoddy hand held recordings of some really really old gigs of mine.
Anyway I was after a bit of advice on recording tips and techniques for Youtube.
I've got a few toys i'd...
Hmm
I think for me, i just think of it as Peter Greens Les Paul. The thing is everybody has their own opinion on something, and when you start to listen to yours too much, thats when you dont take anyone elses into account. And to be blunt, Moore did own it longer than Peter Green.
I guess...
Well his phrasing is just so good, he is the epitome of "less is more" (no pun intended). And as a guitarist thats a very hard thing to get into that mindset. We dont really have the physical limitations of say a horn player.
Although im a huge Holdsworth fan, i loathe shredders. Surely to...
yeah i suppose thats a fair comment, i must be the exception in terms of younger players :op (well nearly thirty now)
I never really considered Gary Moore that influential on younger players to be honest, certainly from guys i know it was either vai, satch, slash, gilbert, yngwie, vh...
yeah the Melvyn Franks guy is the collector who now owns the guitar after Gary Moore sold it to him. So yes Melvyn Franks gets a signature guitar but Peter Green doesnt. Gary moores people by all accounts only found out about it at the 11th hour. So thats why you have the Gary Moore signature...
wow i cant believe that Gibson Stratocaster. Sounds pretty desperate on Gibsons part. The Hendrix name is obviously a huge cash cow. Both parties have extremely famous name sake users. I mean im guessing most guitarists when Hendrix is mentioned in terms of gear etc. Would think of Marshall...
just trawling through the net, and i saw this
http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-Custom/Collectors-Choice-1-1959-Les-Paul-Standard.aspx
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfMzhshmFKc&feature=related
notice the complete lack of a mention of Peter Green on Gibsons...
have to admit i prefer the goldtop, I think that would age better than the white one. i've not been overly impressed with any new gibsons i've played. Particularly the SG special faded, that was horrid. i cant believe it got through the quality procedure at Gibson.
A friend of mine said the...
Hello
Im not sure if i've posted this before, but here goes. Mines relatively tame in comparision to some of these lovely collections  Im starting to get into the train of thought, of buying something you really want, instead of settling for the next model down. As i believe these hold...
