    The mythical Greco egf 2500?

Years ago I came across a site the had pics of what was described as an EGF-2500. Now I can't find the site. It may have been a special order. I do remember it had split block inlays, similar to this one -...

    The mythical Greco egf 2500?

1979. Looks like it has dowel tenon neck joint. Probs one of first with Super Real script. Later EGFs had the deep stepped tenon construction.

Hello from Ontario, Canada! Ft. my Burny 1989 Firebird V

I’m saying the nitro is different. The Gibsons I have are not like the gold top model

Any evidence of natural relicing of Love Rocks?

Gibson and Fender are clearly the standards by which so many other guitar manufacturers are compared against. Whether it be the type of finish used, neck angle, top carve, etc. For instance, why wouldn’t a nice beautiful smooth long lasting finish be preferred over nitrocellulose that checks...

    Vintage Tokai Lacquer Finishes

This topic has got me thinking. I have owned a few high end Greco Super Real EGFs that Supposedly were finished in some sort of lacquer and also a 1980 LS 80 Reborn Old. Thinking how great and hard the finish was, with No checking whatsoever. So it got me thinking that I really don’t think I’ve...

1981 catalogue LS-50 "Polyester" finish versus "Polyurethane" finish used other years

I think you’re probably right that it was related to the outsourcing. Demand outpaced production capabilities.

    Vintage Tokai Lacquer Finishes

Remember the polyester finish on the LS 50s when they farmed them out to other factories? It’s in the catalog. when the inkies were around.

Hello from Ontario, Canada! Ft. my Burny 1989 Firebird V

I used to own in 1980 Greco EG 800 GS. Don’t know if it had a nitro lacquer top or not. It was pretty but I’m not sure it’s the same lacquer formula. Seemed different to me than the nitro I have on my old Gibson.

Those breaks put me off. Too bad, otherwise a nice plaintop with some subtle figuring.

1978-1980 Tokai Reborn: Solid Carved Tops?

Exactly!. Stay away from veneers for those reasons. They might be pretty, but they’re not authentic Les Paul construction.

My Tokai LS-120OS 1979 original Res Paul Reborn.

Looks like a solid top from the pics. Perfectly non-mirrored.

    Greco "deep tenon" super reals

Those are Gibsons cross sections. https://images.app.goo.gl/pMcNRjpUuvGsyKSy6 The Greco super real had the deep stepped tenon. I’ll look for more information and post it here

    1981Greco SA-900 Oddities / Questions

You are wrapping yourself around the axle. If it was mine, I’d say it’s a 1981 super real series and be done with it. And enjoy the Guitar
