    Done with Japanese guitars

well, whatever floats your boat That is to say, folks can change, it's the way things are. I have MIJ and some American gear. I am selling all my low end MIJ in favour of high end MIJ, it's just the feel, smell, sound, etc that appeals to me more about them. However some rare MIJ are still...

    Tokai ST100 Custom

Is the truss rod adjuster the hex allen type or slotted screw type? looks to be hex type, which indicates pre 1982 to me. Seems the changover is either 1980 or 1981 to cross slotted screw type? A 1981 model maybe right?

    Debranded Tokai TE-80? Telecaster

hi, looks like some changed parts? usually expect to see the TOKAI stamp on the brass bridge plate, maybe in 78 it was not there? I have not seen another 78 TE85. the missing stamp on the fretboard could also be a 1978 spec, but this one has the wider neck plate with serial, so would expect a...

    Greco eg700 thoughts please

It's a nice guitar, EG-700 from September 79, is actually a copy or duplicate of the norlin era guitars gibson made, the sellers comments cracked me up after reading Greco were one of the Japanese companies (Tokai was another) that cashed in on the poor quality of US-built F*nd*rs and G*bs*ns in...

    greco with dry 1982

Hi I have them in my TRH-120 they are called Dry-H, they are okay, they are just not in the Dry Z or Dry 82's ball park as they are just a bit below par in clarity, IMHO, but the guitar has it's own feel and sound and so on....i still enjoy it 8)
