Sold Goldstar TST60 Olympic White - UK

I don’t have any history - was bought off eBay a couple of years ago after literally years looking for a MN OW 50 which don’t seem to exist!. It seemed quite original (neck bolts fit exactly, no additional or filled holes in the neck pocket) and the neck profile, scratchplate etc. seem to tie in...

Sold Goldstar TST60 Olympic White - UK

Testing the waters here (not sure how active the forum is these days). As a proud owner since about '86 of a ''84 TST50 OW RW neck, I looked for years to find its maple necked 'brother'. Finally found a TST60 on ebay but we just haven't bonded so going to be moving it on. Wanted to try here...

    84 Goldstar bridge screw sizes

Hi all. After years of looking I've finally found a m/n partner to my r/w o/w TST50 from 1984 (owned since 87). The new addition is a TST60 (V-neck, E pickups, round string tree) and seems original and mostly sound. The bridge parts are very rusty and I'm trying to attempt to de-rust them. If...

Nooooooooooooooooooo............ That o/w ST60 is just what I've been looking for for the past few years but I've just blown the music budget on PA gear. Ah well... c'est la vie All the best with the sales - glad to see the '40 looking good 8)

    Goldstar identification

I would add closer pics of the front and back of the headstock/tuners - too blurry to tell if they're the Kluson (split post) types or some other.

FS: '84 Tokai Goldstar Sound ST-60 (all original)...

Don't forget import duty and VAT http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/customs/post/buying.htm - not such a bargain after that's been added :-(

Goldstar Sound, is this ST40/50/60??? check the pics...

+1. Old tuner holes would match the ones originally fitted to 40s

    Tokai Goldstar 1986

Welcome to the forum. If the guitar genuinely is a 1986 ST60 (seems ok from the photos) then it will be a very good quality guitar indeed. The asking price seems reasonable (especially with a hard case) but it's always worth haggling.

Pickup mod / upgrade on Goldstar

I'd agree with lifeline; I swapped out the VIIs in my '50 for some Kent Armstrongs - vintage alnico at neck and middle with a 'rails' humbucker at the bridge. Nice mix of vintage and modern tones with a lot more 'body' and none of the shrillness. Still I have the VII's safe (somewhere) in case i...

    what amp

Fair comment - not sure how good backing tracks would sound through the Trademark. There are a couple of new Yamaha 'home' amps that got rave reviews in this month's Guitarist - might be worth a listen: www.andertons.co.uk/combo-amps/pid22166/cid691/yamaha-thr10-guitar-amp.asp
